What white-glove moving really means

White-glove is our highest level of care. It's for homes and items where "careful" isn't enough, where one scratch or one drop costs real money or can't be undone. You get extra padding on everything, custom crates for the pieces that need them, a slower and more deliberate pace, and a crew that protects your floors, walls, and doorways like they're our own. We wrap it, crate it, carry it, and place it exactly where you want it.
One crew, full ownership. The same insured team that pads your grand piano is the team that carries it and sets it down. No handoff to a stranger, no one to point fingers at. We touch it, we own it.

What you get at the white-glove level

White-glove adds a layer of protection and planning on top of a normal move. Here is what's included, shown as five cards:
Extra wrapping and padding
Every piece gets blanket-wrapped and shrink-wrapped, not just the obvious ones. Corners, legs, and finished surfaces are protected before anything leaves the room.
Custom crates
For art, mirrors, stone tops, chandeliers, and one-of-a-kind pieces, we build a crate to fit so the item travels in its own protected box.
Floor and doorway protection
We lay floor runners and pad door frames and banisters at both homes, so the building takes the wear, not your walls.
A detailed inventory
We log your high-value items, so you and we both know exactly what moved and in what condition.
Careful placement and setup
We don't drop boxes in the entry and leave. We place furniture where you want it and put the rooms back together.

The items we're known for handling

Some things take more than muscle. They take the right crate, the right tools, and a crew that has moved them before. These are the pieces people call us for, shown as cards:
Pianos and instruments.
Uprights, baby grands, and full grands. We pad the body, secure the lid and keys, use a piano board and proper straps, and protect the legs and pedals. Tight doorways, turns, and stairs are part of the plan, not a surprise. Tell us the type of piano and the access at both homes and we'll size the crew and quote it right.
Fine art, antiques, and museum pieces
Paintings, sculpture, and gallery or estate collections. We use padded corners, adjustable art boxes, and custom crates where the value calls for it. Fragile finishes and old joints are handled slowly, by hand.
High-value and designer furniture.
Designer sofas, large cabinetry, marble and glass tops, and statement pieces. We take apart what should come apart, wrap the rest, and reassemble at the new home.
Chandeliers, mirrors, and glass.
Light fixtures, oversized mirrors, and glass that has to ride standing up. Removed, padded, crated, and rehung or placed with care.
Safes and heavy specialty items.
Gun safes and other heavy, awkward loads. Because these can exceed safe lifting limits, we plan the crew and equipment around the weight and the path. Send photos, the rough weight, and any stairs, and our fleet manager signs off on the crew before the day.
Have a piano, a safe, or a large art piece? Send a few photos. A couple of quick photos of the item and the path it has to travel (doorways, stairs, elevator) let us bring the right crew and gear, and give you an honest price instead of a guess.

Custom crating, built to fit

When something is valuable, irregular, or just irreplaceable, a standard box isn't enough. We build a crate around it: made to measure, padded inside, and strong enough to take the trip and the handling.
We crate things like original art and large frames, stone and glass tabletops, sculpture, sensitive electronics and screens, and any heirloom you'd never want to move loose. For long-distance and interstate white-glove moves, where items get handled more often and travel for hours, crating is the difference between arriving perfect and arriving cracked.
The crate is part of the quote. We measure, build, and pad on our side. You don't source materials or guess at sizes. It's included in the price we quote you.

White-glove delivery and receiving

White-glove isn't only moving a home. A lot of our clients need us to receive, deliver, and set up high-value items, and that's its own service:
Final-mile delivery and setup.
Furniture, art, and large pieces delivered into the room of your choice, unboxed, assembled, and placed. The packaging leaves with us.
Receiving and inspection.
We can take delivery of your pieces, check them against the paperwork, note any condition issues, and hold or deliver on your schedule.
Designer, gallery, and business deliveries.
Interior designers, galleries, and showrooms use us for careful, on-time delivery and placement, with the same protection we give a full move.
Designers and galleries: if you need pieces received, delivered, and placed without a mark, this is exactly what the white-glove crew does. Tell us the items and the access and we'll quote it.

What does white-glove service cost?

White-glove moving is billed by the hour, at the same all-inclusive rate as a regular move, based on your crew size. The extra care, padding, and protection come standard at this level. Our weekday rate, Monday through Thursday, is our best price, so if your dates are flexible, midweek saves you money.

Specialty items are quoted on their own, because the price depends on the piece and the path:

  • Pianos, safes, and large art are quoted from a few photos, the rough size and weight, and the access at both homes (doorways, stairs, elevator). Items over about 250 pounds may carry specialty handling, and anything especially heavy or with risky access gets our fleet manager's sign-off before the day.
  • Custom crates are measured and built by us and included in your quote.

Two things we always tell you up front, before you book: California requires Double Drive Time, so if the drive between your two homes is over 15 minutes, that drive time is counted twice. And the clock starts after you sign, never on the drive to your first stop. Everything, the rate, the crating, and any item-specific handling, shows on your quote before you commit.

New floors, tight elevators, narrow hallways, and HOA rules are all part of the plan. We book the elevator, send the certificate of insurance (COI) the building needs, and protect every shared surface, so the move stays on schedule and your deposit stays yours.
