The established core came first: Woodbridge, built through the 1970s and 80s as four quadrants around two lakes with swim clubs and lagoon beaches; Northwood under its century-old eucalyptus windrows; Westpark with its Mediterranean stucco and tile; University Park, the original village, growing alongside UCI since 1966; and the older north-central neighborhoods of El Camino Real and Walnut. The hillside villages climb toward open space: Turtle Rock, Quail Hill, Turtle Ridge, and Orchard Hills, where homes sit above working avocado orchards. Three things, usually.
