Local moving, handled end to end
A local move is any move that stays in the same area: across town, to the next city, or anywhere within a few hours' drive here in California. That's most of what we do. We move studios and one-bedrooms, full houses, apartments and condos, and small offices. We bring the truck, the blankets, the dollies, and the crew. We wrap your furniture, take apart what needs taking apart, load it, drive it, and put it back together at the new place. You point, we carry.

What comes with every local move
Just need the muscle? We do labor-only too
Not every job needs a truck. If you've rented a U-Haul, ordered a POD, or have a container sitting in the driveway, we'll bring the crew and the equipment and handle the heavy part: loading, unloading, or both. We'll also move furniture around inside your home, carry things up from the garage, or help you stage a room before a sale. It's the same trained, insured crew, billed by the hour with a short minimum, so a quick job stays a quick job.
What does a local move cost?
Local moves are billed by the hour, at one all-inclusive rate based on how big your crew is. The clock starts when the crew begins working, after a three-hour minimum, and then we bill in 15-minute steps. Weekdays - Monday through Thursday - book at our discounted weekday rate. Fridays, weekends, and the end of the month are our busiest times and book at our regular rate, so if your schedule is flexible, midweek is the cheaper choice.
How long it takes depends on how much you have and how easy the access is. As a rough guide (we confirm the real number in your quote):
- Studio or 1-bedroom: usually a 2-person crew, about 3-5 hours.
- 2-bedroom home or apartment: usually a 3-person crew, about 5-7 hours.
- 3-bedroom house: usually a 3-4 person crew, about 7-10 hours.
- 4-bedroom and up: a larger crew, sometimes a second truck, planned around your day.
The one charge California requires us to add on move day is Double Drive Time: if the drive between your old and new place is over 15 minutes, that travel time is counted twice. We tell you about it before you book, never after. Everything that applies to your move is itemized on your written quote, so the number you approve is the number you plan around.

What counts as a local move?
A local move stays in the same general area – usually within about 50 miles, or anywhere a crew can get to and back in a day. Across town, to the next city, or a couple of hours up or down the California coast all count. Anything farther, or out of state, is a long-distance move, which is priced and planned differently.

How much do local movers cost?
Local moves are billed by the hour at one all-inclusive rate based on your crew size, with a three-hour minimum and 15-minute billing after that. Weekdays book at a lower rate than Fridays, weekends, and the end of the month. California also requires Double Drive Time on move day, which we always disclose before you book. How long does a local move take?

Bigger homes take longer and sometimes a second truck. Stairs, long carries, and a lot of packing add time, so we confirm an estimate for your specific move.

Do you offer labor-only moving help?
Yes. If you have your own truck, a POD, or a container, we’ll bring the crew and load it, unload it, or both. We also move furniture inside your home and help with in-building moves. It’s the same insured crew, billed by the hour with a short minimum, so small jobs stay affordable.

Can you move apartments and HOA or gated communities?
Yes, that’s a big part of what we do here. For apartments and high-rises we handle the certificate of insurance (COI) and reserve the elevator ahead of time. For HOA and gated communities we work within the move-in windows and gate rules. Just tell us the building or community when you book.

How far in advance should I book, and do you do same-day moves?
For most local moves, 2-4 weeks ahead is comfortable, and you’ll have more dates to choose from. Book earlier for end-of-month and summer, which fill up fast. That said, we often have same-day and next-day crews available, so if you’re in a pinch, call and we’ll tell you honestly what’s open.
