What do Costa Mesa alleys, complexes, and three-story townhomes need that others don't?
Start with the alleys. Many Eastside garages open onto the rear alley, and a full-size moving truck often cannot work from one, so we stage on the street, map the carry path, and bring the hands to cover it. The older tree streets also mean watching for low limbs over the truck. When is the best time to move in Costa Mesa?

Now the Costa Mesa wrinkles, and this city has a big one: the OC Fair takes over the fairgrounds for 23 days from mid-July to mid-August, drawing more than a million visitors, and evenings and weekends back up Fair Drive, Newport Boulevard, and the end of the 55. If you live anywhere near the fairgrounds, book a morning start or dodge fair weekends entirely. The holidays bring the opposite corner to a crawl: South Coast Plaza pulls shoppers from across the region in November and December, and Bristol and Sunflower slow to shopping-cart speed on weekends. Student churn around Orange Coast College and Vanguard peaks in late August. One structural quirk: the 55 freeway simply ends at 19th Street, so afternoon traffic pours onto surface streets through the middle of town. The quiet advantage is that most Costa Mesa moves are short hops, and when the drive between your two addresses stays under 15 minutes, California's Double Drive Time rule barely touches your bill. No, it’s an Eastside classic. A full-size truck usually can’t work from the alley, so we stage on the street, map the carry path in advance, and size the crew for it. It’s planned, not discovered.
