Apartment movers who've met your property manager's checklist before

Apartment moves are logistics moves. The building has rules, the parking has limits, the elevator has a schedule, and there are two of everything because you're leaving one property and entering another. We move apartments every single day: garden complexes with carport courtyards, mid-rises with freight elevators, towers with loading docks, and walkups with nothing but stairs. The paperwork, the reservations, the parking plan all get handled before move day, and that's the whole difference between a smooth apartment move and a long one.
Tell us your complex and your unit's floor. A ground-floor garden unit and a third-floor walkup are different plans with different crews, and the right plan is what keeps the hours honest.

Every kind of apartment move

Complexes & garden apartments.
Gate codes arranged, leasing-office move rules followed to the letter, and carport courtyards planned as the long carries they are, with the hands to cover them.
High-rises & mid-rises.
Certificate of insurance naming owner and manager, freight elevator reserved, dock timed. We arrive inside your building's window, not somewhere around it.
Walkups & stairs.
Third floor, no elevator, no problem. Crews sized for the stairs, furniture wrapped for the turns, and a door off its hinges for a minute when the couch demands it.
Studio to three-bedroom.
Right-sized crews: a studio doesn't need four movers, and a two-bedroom shouldn't limp along with two. We match the crew to the unit and tell you why.

What makes apartment moves different

What makes apartment moves different from house moves?

Rules, mostly. A house move answers to you. An apartment move answers to two buildings, the one you're leaving and the one you're entering, and each has its own checklist: insurance certificates, approved move windows, elevator reservations, rules about where a truck may sit and for how long. Miss one and your move day stalls in a leasing office. There's also money riding on the walls. Your deposit at the old place and your standing at the new one both depend on door jambs and corridor corners surviving the day, which is why we protect both ends of every apartment move like it's our deposit on the line. And parking is never a given at a complex. The truck's spot, the carry path, the courtyard between them: all of it gets planned before the morning of, because a long carry you planned for is fine, and one you discovered at 8am is an expensive surprise.

What will my property manager ask for?

Almost always the same three things, and we handle all of them. First, a certificate of insurance naming the property owner and management company as additional insured; we issue these routinely, usually same day, and send them straight to the leasing office. Second, a move window; many buildings only allow moves during set hours, and we schedule inside yours. Third, in mid-rises and towers, a freight elevator reservation, sometimes with a building deposit attached. Tell us the complex name for both addresses when you book and consider the paperwork done. Our team talks to leasing offices every single day; there isn't a checklist we haven't seen.

When is the best time to move apartments?

Mid-month, on a weekday morning. Here's why: leases turn over at the first of the month, so the last weekend and the first few days of any month are the crunch, and freight elevators in high-rises book out fastest exactly then. A Tuesday morning on the 14th? Calm streets, open elevators, relaxed leasing office. Monday through Thursday also gets our discounted weekday rate, which stacks nicely with the calm. One more piece of honest math: California's Double Drive Time rule counts the drive between your two addresses twice once it passes 15 minutes. Apartment moves are often short hops that stay under it, and either way we run the numbers and show you before you book.

What else should apartment movers know?

Stairs deserve a straight answer. A third-floor walkup is completely doable; it just needs the right crew size and furniture wrapped for the turns, and when a sleeper sofa argues with a switchback landing, the door comes off its hinges for a minute and everyone wins. Send us photos of the staircase, top and bottom, and we'll size it right the first time. Same-complex transfers are a real service too: moving from unit 108 to unit 314 across the courtyard is shorter than a normal move but still a move, and we do them all the time. If your lease dates don't line up, our moving-and-storage options bridge the gap, overnight or for months. Heavy items follow our photo-first process, priced by weight class on your written quote with a safe-sized crew. And we do this everywhere: Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego, and the Inland Empire, every working day, dispatched from our Irvine headquarters. Apartments aren't a sideline for us. They're the daily bread.

What do apartment movers cost?

Local moves are billed by the hour at one all-inclusive rate based on crew size, with wrapping, basic tools, and standard furniture disassembly and reassembly included. There is a 3-hour minimum, then 15-minute steps, and the clock starts only after the crew arrives and you sign; we never charge for the drive to you. Monday through Thursday is our discounted weekday rate. California requires Double Drive Time: if the drive between your two addresses is over 15 minutes, that drive time is counted twice, and we always tell you before you book. Heavy items are priced by weight class on your written quote, and depending on the job a trip fee may apply; if it does, it shows on the quote. Long-distance moves are quoted flat from a video estimate.

For full price tables, see Moving Cost, or send two addresses and a few photos for an exact number.

Honestly, who we are not the right fit for

We'd rather be straight with you. If you're hunting the cheapest two guys and a rental truck, a gig app will beat our price, and a sleeper sofa down three flights of switchback stairs is exactly where that bargain falls apart. There's a practical catch too: if your building requires an insurance certificate, and most managed buildings do, an uninsured crew can't legally get past the leasing office. We run a 3-hour minimum with insured, experienced crews and real materials, and we're movers, not a junk-removal or disposal service. But if you want your deposit back and your move window respected, that's exactly what we do.
